For over 20 years, Aid for ADS (AFA) has provided direct financial assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS that are disabled and living below the poverty line. Our mission is simple - we help people with HIV by providing funds for the basic necessities of life, such as housing, utilities, food, health insurance premiums, transportation, medication, and nutritional supplements. As one of the oldest AIDS agencies in Southern California, AFA has grown from an informal group of friends to being the premiere service provider of direct financial assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. To date, AFA has assisted over 11,000 men, women and children with monetary support exceeding $14 million. AFA presently have a caseload of over 3,000 active clients.
